Rick Harrison, the creator and star of “Pawn Stars,” recently faced a tragic loss as his son, Adam Harrison, passed away at the age of 39. The news of Adam’s death was first reported by TMZ, which cited a representative of reality star Rick Harrison confirming the fatal overdose on January 19, 2024. The devastated Harrison family received the heartbreaking news on a Friday morning, although the exact timing of the incident remains unclear.
In a joint statement released via Rick’s representative, the Harrison family expressed their grief. Rick Harrison also shared a heartfelt tribute to his late son on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of the father-son duo, stating:
“You will always be in my heart! I love you, Adam.”
Rick Harrison has three sons: Corey, Adam, and Jeff. Adam was Rick’s second son from his first marriage to Kim, and Corey is the eldest. Rick’s first marriage ended in 1985, and he later married Tracy in 1986, with whom he had a son named Jake. The couple divorced in 2011.
The reality television series “Pawn Stars,” which debuted on the History Channel in 2009, brought fame to the Harrison family and their Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. Rick and his oldest son, Corey, played pivotal roles in the show, where they sold unique artifacts.
While Corey remained dedicated to the family business and featured prominently on the reality show, Adam, leading a relatively private life, was not featured in any episodes and pursued a career as a plumber outside the family business.
Rick’s youngest son, Jake, made his first appearance on “Pawn Stars” in Season 18 in 2021. Rick mentioned on Instagram that Jake graduated high school in 2022 and was set to attend college.
As of now, authorities have not provided details about the circumstances surrounding Adam’s overdose death. TMZ reported that Las Vegas police are reportedly investigating the incident
