Over the last two months, Isabella Strahan, the 19-year-old daughter of Michael Strahan, has been courageously battling medulloblastoma, a rapidly growing and cancerous brain tumor. Isabella, a freshman at the University of Southern California, received her diagnosis in October following an MRI scan. The medulloblastoma is located in the cerebellum, the region at the back of the brain responsible for movement and coordination, as explained by the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, where she is undergoing treatment.
In a recent interview on “Good Morning America” with Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan and Isabella Strahan opened up about their decision to publicly address Isabella’s health struggle, emphasizing their desire to bring awareness and support to others facing similar challenges. Michael Strahan shared that the decision to share such a personal journey was driven by Isabella’s determination to use her experience to help and inspire others.
Isabella, known for her work as a model and for recently collaborating with Sephora, expressed her intention not to conceal her cancer journey. Following brain surgery in late October, accompanied by rehabilitation and a six-week course of radiation treatment, she is now gearing up for a chemotherapy regimen under the care of doctors at Duke University, where her twin sister Sophia is a freshman.
Using her platform, Michael Strahan’s Daughter Isabella aims to become a voice and source of inspiration for those undergoing similar experiences with chemotherapy or radiation. She looks forward to providing comfort and interest to individuals navigating challenging health journeys. As part of her outreach, Isabella is launching a YouTube series this week to document her ongoing battle, collaborating with Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in this effort.
