In a monumental moment for ardent followers of Lord Ram, the Pran Pratishtha event for the deity unfolded at the revered Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on the auspicious Monday of January 22. Eminent figures from the cinematic realm graced Ayodhya to witness the grand inauguration of the Ram Mandir, and among them stood the celebrated Sonu Nigam, lending his mellifluous voice to the sacred occasion with a rendition of the ‘Ram Siya Ram’ composition.
Renowned crooner Sonu Nigam graced the inauguration of the Ram Mandir, imparting a divine touch with his resonant vocal expressions. Dressed in an attire comprising a cream-colored kurta paired with corresponding trousers and an elegant shawl, Sonu presented the ‘Ram Siya Ram’ melody to the assembled audience. The roster of invitees from the film industry comprised illustrious names such as Mohanlal, Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Vicky Kaushal, Anupam Kher, Chiranjeevi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Akshay Kumar, Dhanush, Randeep Hooda, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, Rishab Shetty, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ajay Devgn, Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff, Yash, Prabhas, and Sunny Deol, among others.
For the uninformed, Pran Pratishtha stands as a revered ritual in both Jainism and Hinduism, signifying the installation of a deity’s idol in a sanctified space like a temple, following a consecration process. ‘Pran’ conveys life force, while ‘Pratishtha’ denotes establishment. The Pran Pratishtha or consecration ceremony involves invoking the life force within the idol.
A collective of 121 Acharyas will meticulously conduct the rituals for the consecration of the Ram Mandir. The idol’s Pran Pratistha will transpire during the propitious ‘Abhijeet Muhurta,’ spanning from 12.20 pm to 1 pm on January 22. The temple trust reveals that over 7,000 individuals have received invitations for this momentous occasion, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumes the role of chief guest.
