Remember hot and dreamy Aditya Roy Kapur as Rahul Jayakar in Aashiqui 2? Well, that’s the movie where he and Shraddha Kapoor reportedly fell in love, leaving us with unforgettable performances and making us all go “Tum Hi Ho.” Fast forward to Aashiqui 3, announced with Kartik Aaryan as the lead last September, and Aditya spills the beans on being replaced.
In the recent Koffee With Karan Season 8 Episode 8, Aditya Roy Kapur sits with close friend Arjun Kapoor, discussing their careers and box office adventures. The highlight, though, is Aditya’s reaction to Kartik taking over his Aashiqui 3 role.
When Karan Johar asked him about being replaced, Aditya replied, “I think he’s the perfect person to take the baton forward. There was no chance for me in this because, in the second part, my character went for a long swim, from which he is not returning. I died; where will I come back now? My spirit will come back.”
Aditya humorously suggests coming back as a spirit to be part of Aashiqui 3, with Karan adding that it would be funny to see him haunting Kartik for taking over his popular role.
On the other side, Kartik Aaryan shared the news of Aashiqui 3 on his Instagram last year, with Anurag Basu directing the film.
