Baum reportedly questioned Sweeney’s appeal, remarking that she “isn’t pretty” and “can’t act,” according to the Daily Mail.
Baum, who has been involved in the industry since the 1980s, expressed her confusion about the buzz surrounding Sweeney after watching her latest film, “Anyone But You,” during a flight. She described the romantic comedy as “unwatchable” and admitted that even her students at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts couldn’t explain Sweeney’s popularity.
