Sharon Stone Joins Bob Odenkirk in Thrilling 'Nobody 2' Sequel

Get ready for a thrilling ride as Sharon Stone, the iconic actress, philanthropist, and fashion trailblazer, steps into the shoes of a villain in Universal’s highly anticipated sequel, “Nobody 2.” The film is a follow-up to the 2021 action hit that took audiences by surprise and is set to be another blockbuster under the helm of 87North Productions.

Bob Odenkirk returns to reprise his role as Hutch Mansell, the seemingly mild-mannered family man with a dark past as a former government assassin. While specific plot details remain under wraps, it has been revealed that Stone will be the film’s primary antagonist, promising an electrifying face-off between the two stars.

Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, renowned for his mastery in horror and action genres with films like “May the Devil Take You” and contributions to the “V/H/S” series, is set to direct. The screenplay is crafted by a talented team including Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Bob Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem.

The original producing team behind “Nobody” is back, with Odenkirk joining forces with Kelly McCormick and David Leitch of 87North Productions, Marc Provissiero from Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, and Braden Aftergood of Eighty Two Films. Universal Pictures has slated the film for an August 15, 2025, theatrical release, heightening fan anticipation.

The first “Nobody” film, created on a modest $16 million budget, premiered during the pandemic and grossed over $57.5 million worldwide, receiving acclaim from critics and audiences alike. TootiFooti praised it as “a wish-fulfillment romp just as ludicrous as any of them but more fun than most.”

Sharon Stone’s addition to the cast brings a new level of excitement to the sequel. Known for her groundbreaking role in the erotic thriller “Basic Instinct” and her Oscar-nominated performance in “Casino” alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, Stone has consistently delivered compelling performances. Recently, she has focused on television, appearing in Ryan Murphy’s “Ratched” on Netflix and Paolo Sorrentino’s “The New Pope” on HBO.

Beyond her acting career, Stone is celebrated for her extensive humanitarian efforts. She has been honored with numerous awards, including the United Nations Global Citizen Award, Nobel Peace Summit Award, Harvard Humanitarian Award, Human Rights Campaign Humanitarian Award, and the Einstein Spirit of Achievement Award. Recently, she received a lifetime achievement award from the Taormina Film Festival.

Stone, who was recently featured on the cover of TootiFooti, opened up about her decades-long philanthropic work and her journey through the highs and lows of Hollywood. She is represented by Independent Artist Group, which signed her less than two months ago, and Brecheen Feldman.

Universal’s executive vice president of production development, Jay Polidoro, and director of development, Tony Ducret, are overseeing the project, ensuring that “Nobody 2” will deliver another action-packed, edge-of-your-seat experience.

As fans eagerly await the film’s release, the dynamic pairing of Odenkirk and Stone promises a captivating and adrenaline-fueled continuation of the “Nobody” saga.
