Maye Musk took to Instagram on Tuesday, March 5, to share moments from the SI Swimsuit 60th Anniversary Legend’s Shoot, expressing her joy in the company of these remarkable women. The post featured a captivating slideshow of monochrome images captured behind the scenes. Among them were candid shots of Musk, 75, engaged in conversation with Stewart, 82, and another featuring both Stewart and Brinkley, 70, in a lively exchange on set.
Brinkley, who graced the cover of SI three times and made her debut in 1975, reminisced about her initial encounter with the magazine in a reflective video shared by the publication. Viewing a display of past covers, she expressed astonishment at her first cover shoot, acknowledging the profound impact it had on her career. “My first cover, that was incredible!” Brinkley exclaimed. “I had no idea what it meant doing that cover.” She further revealed how the experience instilled in her a sense of self-worth, emphasizing the importance of embracing one’s uniqueness.

In the May 2023 issue, Day elucidated the purpose behind Stewart’s feature, aiming to empower women of all ages. “There is no theme — rather, there is a vision, a sentiment, a hope that women can live in a world where they feel no limitations, internally or externally,” Day articulated.
Martha Stewart herself shed light on her preparation for the shoot, emphasizing a commitment to a healthy lifestyle. “I didn’t starve myself, but I didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple of months. I went to Pilates every other day,” she shared during an appearance on Today in May 2023. “I live a clean life anyway. Good diet and good exercise and healthy skincare can do all that stuff, but it was kind of fun.”
