Netflix has just dropped an enticing new trailer for its upcoming fantasy epic, Damsel, teasing audiences with a peek at the formidable dragon central to the story.
Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo shared insights into the creation of this unique dragon character in a recent interview with Empire, highlighting the blend of fantasy and realism that sets it apart. “The benchmark for dragons is set so high. We’ve endeavored to craft a new concept, a fusion of fantasy and reality. In this film, the dragon is not merely a creature but a fully-fledged character,” he explained.
Millie Bobby Brown, known for her roles in Stranger Things and Enola Holmes, leads the cast as Princess Elodie. Her character’s fairy tale takes a dark turn when she discovers that her betrothal to Prince Henry is a scheme to sacrifice her to a dragon as payment for an ancient debt.

Damsel, directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo of 28 Weeks Later fame and scripted by Dan Mazeau (Fast X), promises a gripping tale of courage and defiance.
