Could "Love On" Be Selena Gomez's Most Flirtatious Tune Yet?

Selena Gomez has been dropping hints about her latest song, “Love On,” for the past few days — and now, the anticipation is finally over. The multi-talented artist unveiled her new track at midnight Paris time, perfectly suiting the playful and flirtatious vibe of the song. “Love On” marks Gomez’s first release since “Single Soon” in 2023, a track produced by her new beau, Benny Blanco, along with Cashmere Cat. Departing from the breakup theme of her previous song, “Love On” celebrates the excitement of new love with a dash of French flair.

This release holds significance as it’s the first song Selena Gomez has put out since she went public with Blanco in December 2023. While she hasn’t explicitly confirmed the inspiration behind the song, she has been teasing it on Instagram all week with French narration and glimpses of Paris.

The lyrics of “Love On” include suggestive lines such as, “Wait ’til I turn my love on / I’m no cheap thrill / I’m a rollercoaster ride, baby jump on / Come on, come on,” and “This doesn’t have to be some sort of mathematical equation / Slip off your jeans, slide in the sheets, screaming “yes” in quotations / Clock in, baby get to work / Night shift but with all the perks.”

Adding a French twist, Selena Gomez incorporates lines like “Why we conversing over this steak tartare when we could be / Somewhere other than here making out in the back of a car / Or in the back of a bar / Or we could make a memoir, yeah / On the back wall of the last stall in the bathroom at the bazaar.”

Unveiling Selena Gomez’s Seductive Ode: “Love On”

This isn’t the first time Gomez has shown her love for French culture. Last summer, she shared posts on Instagram giving fans a glimpse of her time in France while filming “Emilia Perez” with Zoe Saldaña from “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

“Thank you, Paris for being a home to me for two months!” Gomez wrote in a caption on Instagram, as reported by People. “I loved every moment. Working on this film has completely changed my life. I can’t wait to share more soon! Love you all.”

In her downtime, she managed to squeeze in a visit to the iconic Crazy Horse Cabaret, some shopping at Dior and even grabbed pizza with Saldaña.
