Check Out | Eva Mendes Calls Ryan Gosling Back Home After Ken's Oscar Triumph!

Ryan Gosling stole the show with his dazzling rendition of “I’m Just Ken” at the 96th annual Academy Awards, but his partner, Eva Mendes, had a gentle reminder waiting for him at home.

After Ryan Gosling’s electrifying performance as Ken on Sunday night, Mendes took to Instagram, sharing a photo of herself in a stylish pink blazer and a black cowboy hat. In the caption, she affectionately urged Ryan Gosling to return home, stating, “You took Ken all the way to the Oscars, RG. Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed. 💋”

Ryan Gosling, 43, and Mendes, 50, are parents to two daughters, Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7.

Although Gosling was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Ken, the award ultimately went to Robert Downey Jr. for his role in Oppenheimer, which also clinched the coveted Best Picture trophy.

Despite Barbie entering the evening with eight nominations, the film only secured one win, notably for Best Original Song.

Earlier in the day, Mendes shared a heartfelt video on Instagram from outside Ryan Gosling’s dressing room, featuring his Oscar-nominated song “I’m Just Ken.” Alongside the clip, she wrote, “Always by my man,” showcasing her unwavering support.

During the Oscars ceremony, Ryan Gosling took the stage in a striking pink suit and sunglasses, joined by Mark Ronson and fellow Kens including Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, and Ncuti Gatwa. The performance of the viral Barbie song was infused with contagious energy, with Gosling even passing the mic to Barbie director Greta Gerwig and stars America Ferrera and Margot Robbie at one point. The performance concluded with a flourish, featuring appearances by Slash and Wolfgang Van Halen.

Before Gosling’s performance, he received a comforting hug from his mother, and afterward, he greeted fans at the Dolby Theatre’s bar, where he was met with cheers and applause.

While “I’m Just Ken” didn’t secure the win for Best Original Song, the award remained within the Barbie family as “What Was I Made For?” from the film’s soundtrack claimed the honor. Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell delivered a poignant rendition of the winning song during the ceremony, moving the cast to tears.

Reflecting on the win, Eilish expressed her gratitude, admitting, “I didn’t think this would happen, I wasn’t expecting this. I feel so incredibly lucky and honored.”

This win marks Eilish’s second Oscar, solidifying her status as the youngest two-time Academy Award winner ever, following her previous win in the same category in 2022 for “No Time to Die.”

In addition to triumphing over “I’m Just Ken,” “What Was I Made For?” prevailed against tough competition from other nominees, including songs from Flamin’ Hot, American Symphony, and Killers of the Flower Moon.
