In an unexpected turn of events, Adele has revealed plans for a series of four concerts set to take place in a specially constructed stadium in Munich this summer. Describing the idea as “a bit random, but still fabulous,” the British singer is set to grace an 80,000-capacity open-air venue in the heart of the German city on the 2nd, 3rd, 9th, and 10th of August.
This marks Adele’s first mainland European performance since her last tour back in 2016. Initially, she had not intended to schedule any additional shows beyond her ongoing Las Vegas residency and two London performances in 2022. However, the allure of a unique opportunity proved too enticing to resist.
Summer Surprise: Adele’s Unplanned Munich Residency Takes Center Stage
The pop sensation shared that she was swayed by the offer to perform in “a one-off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on,” conveniently situated “pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe.” Expressing her excitement, Adele mentioned on social media, “I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer.”
The announcement concluded with a playful “Guten Tag Babes x” from the 35-year-old artist. For those eager to secure tickets, registration is open until February 5, with the pre-sale set to kick off on February 7.
Adele’s current Las Vegas residency is scheduled to wrap up on June 15. Before that, she treated fans to two sold-out performances at London’s Hyde Park in July 2022. The Vegas residency, initially planned for November 2022, faced a nearly year-long postponement as the singer explained it was “not ready.”
Known for chart-topping hits like “Easy On Me,” “Hello,” “Someone Like You,” and “Rolling in the Deep,” as well as albums named after the age she was during recording (19, 21, 25, and 30), Adele continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics.
