In some sad news, Lee Sun-kyun, known for his significant role in the Oscar-winning film ‘Parasite’, was discovered dead on the morning of December 27 in Seoul. Reports from Reuters indicate that he was found unconscious inside a car in a park. The actor had been in the spotlight in recent months due to investigations into alleged illegal drug use.
Lee Sun-Kyu Found Dead Inside Car
Lee Sun-kyun faced allegations of illegal drug use and had been part of an ongoing investigation. He insisted that he accidentally consumed drugs at a nightclub. On December 27, he was found dead inside a car, and his wife contacted the police after discovering what seemed to be a suicide note that Lee had left behind before leaving their home.

The drug case involving Lee Sun-kyun was part of a larger issue in the industry, with several A-listers, including BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, facing similar allegations. G-Dragon, however, cleared his name through numerous narcotics tests. While the situation for Lee Sun-kyun remained uncertain, a detailed analysis by the National Institute of Forensic Science, following a reagent test, confirmed the absence of drugs. Lee Sun-kyun, who had undergone police investigations three times, had requested a lie detector test on the 26th.
A bit about Lee Sun-kyun: Born in 1975, he played a prominent role as a wealthy father in ‘Parasite’ and took lead roles in various South Korean films like ‘Helpless’, ‘All About My Wife’, and other notable projects. He was also part of Apple TV+’s first Korean original series, ‘Dr Brain’, a six-episode sci-fi thriller that premiered in 2021.
Tragically, the 48-year-old actor left behind either a suicide note or a ‘will’ for his wife, according to authorities. The police received a call at night from Lee Sun-kyun’s wife, stating, “My husband had left the house after writing a note that resembles a will.”
