As the special ceremony for placing the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir is done, the talented sculptor Arun Yogiraj, who made the idol, is thinking about how fortunate he is. In an interview, he said:
“I feel like the luckiest person on earth. The blessings of my ancestors, family, and Lord Ram have always been with me. It sometimes feels like I’m in a dream. This is the most important day for me.”
The BJP’s National General Secretary, BL Santhosh, praised Yogiraj for fulfilling the nation’s long-awaited dream. He wrote, “His sense of making the dreams of a waiting nation come true is evident. He is truly blessed.”
The idol, standing at 51 inches tall, is a masterpiece created by Yogiraj. It shows Lord Ram as a five-year-old on a lotus, also carved from the same stone. This divine creation will play a central role in the historic ceremony.
Arun Yogiraj’s journey into sculpting comes from a family of renowned sculptors in Karnataka, spanning five generations. Inspired by his father and grandfather, who had the support of the King of Mysore, Arun started his artistic journey at a young age. Despite a brief time in the corporate world and pursuing an MBA, Yogiraj’s love for sculpting brought him back in 2008.
Since then, his artistic skills have flourished, with notable works like a 30-foot statue of Subhash Chandra Bose near India Gate in New Delhi. Arun Yogiraj’s commitment to his craft and his ability to give life to the stone has not only brought him personal satisfaction but has also played a crucial role in realising the collective dreams of the nation.
