Fighter Movie Banned: Hrithik Roshan And Deepika Padukone-Starrer Gets Banned In Gulf, Except In UAE

Fans of Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone residing in Gulf countries are in for disappointment as their much-anticipated film ‘Fighter’ has been officially banned across the Middle East for theatrical release, with the exception of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Girish Johar, a prominent film business expert and producer, confirmed the setback, stating, “In a setback, #Fighter officially banned across Middle East regions for theatrical release. Only UAE will release the film with a PG15 classification!”

Fighter Movie Banned: The specific reasons behind the ban have not been disclosed at this time. Despite the setback in Gulf countries, the aerial action thriller is set to hit Indian theatres on January 25.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘Fighter’ boasts a star-studded cast including Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi. The storyline revolves around the Balakot airstrike conducted by the Indian Armed Forces in response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the loss of nearly 40 CRPF soldiers.

Fighter Movie Banned: This marks Deepika Padukone’s third collaboration with Siddharth Anand, following their previous ventures ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and the 2023 blockbuster ‘Pathaan.’ Additionally, it is Siddharth Anand’s third collaboration with Hrithik Roshan, with their previous films ‘Bang Bang!’ and ‘War’ achieving significant success at the box office.

Fighter Movie Banned: Hrithik Roshan takes on the role of Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, aka Patty, while Deepika Padukone portrays Squadron Leader Minal Rathore, aka Minni. Anil Kapoor plays the character of Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh, a.k .a. Rocky.

Fighter Movie Banned: Siddharth Anand expressed his sentiments about the film, stating, “Mamta (Siddharth’s wife) and I started our film company MARFLIX with #FIGHTER. A film that is ambitious in more ways than one. It’s more than just a film for us. And we have given it all to this one. 2024 starts with the same feeling again of nervousness and anxiety. Here’s hoping that you guys give the same love to FIGHTER that you showered on PATHAAN. Happy New Year, guys! See you at the movies!! On 25th January.”
