Things take a surprising turn by the interval, and you’re in for a whole new experience. It’s hard to guess what will happen next.
The ending is different from what we usually see in Indian movies. Instead of wrapping things up neatly, leaving the conclusion open to interpretation.

Once again, Sriram Raghavan has treated us to a delightful surprise with his latest creation. While many may be quick to draw comparisons with his previous masterpiece, ‘Andhadhun,’ it’s essential not to do so. Sriram has skillfully brought a new angle to his work by blending comedy, thriller, and a bit of romance together smoothly. This film isn’t confined to a single genre; it’s a package of entertainment.
What truly caught my attention were the subtle yet impactful details scattered throughout the film, such as the impromptu dance sequence on Christmas Eve and the enchanting old-fashioned Bombay ambience. These elements, including the use of small props like the origami swan and the bird in the cage decor throughout the movie, played a role as crucial as the main characters in the narrative, contributing to the storytelling’s richness.
The inclusion of instrumental music enhances several scenes, particularly those with a subtle suspense buildup.
The story, written by Raghavan with Arjit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti, and Anukriti Pandey, smoothly moves from one part to another. What surprised me was how well they handled humour. The writing is great, making it a fun and interesting watch that keeps you excited. However, there are no moments that make you jump out of your seat during the climax scenes.

Vijay Sethupathi‘s performance is a highlight, as he effortlessly delivers some of the wittiest one-liners with a poker face, leaving the audience with a smile. His portrayal feels natural and keeps you engaged throughout. His captivating delivery adds to the Old-Bombay vibe of the movie, enhancing the overall experience.
Katrina Kaif will surely surprise you. From portraying a mature mother to her child to exuding playfulness in solo scenes and then displaying intelligence and a vengeful side, she adeptly embodies the diverse facets of her character, Maria. The range of emotions she goes through is portrayed with finesse.
Sanjay Kapoor, in a special appearance, fulfils his role with a natural presence. Vinay Pathak and Pratima Kazmi, portraying police characters, add a touch of fun, as is typical of their performances. Tinnu Anand, with a decent supporting role, contributes effectively to the ensemble cast.
