Taylor Swift will be noticeably absent from the performance lineup at the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards, despite being a nominee in six categories. The 34-year-old pop sensation is set to attend the prestigious music awards show, but her absence from the stage is due to her immediate departure for Japan as the next destination on her highly successful Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift’s packed schedule includes four consecutive shows at the Tokyo Dome from February 7 to 10, marking the beginning of the tour’s journey through Australia, Asia, and Europe until the end of the summer. The tour is slated to conclude with concerts in the United States and Canada in the fall.

Despite missing out on a live performance at the Grammys, Taylor Swift is nominated for her chart-topping hit “Anti-Hero” in categories such as song of the year, record of the year, and Best Pop Solo Performance. Additionally, her collaboration with Ice Spice on “Karma” has earned her a nomination for best pop duo/group performance, while her album “Midnights” is up for best pop vocal album and album of the year.

Despite the challenges, Swift’s Eras Tour has been an unparalleled success, grossing over $1 billion and earning the title of the most lucrative concert tour of all time, according to Pollstar. Swift’s dedication to her performances is evident in her rigorous preparation, which involved six months of training and daily rehearsals on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud.

Reflecting on the demanding nature of the tour, Swift shared, “I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot.” She aimed for over-rehearsal to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for her fans, allowing her to be spontaneous without losing her focus during the extensive 3-plus-hour-long concerts.
