News of a potential “Happy Gilmore 2” surfaced after actor Christopher McDonald, known for his role as Shooter McGavin in the original film, spilled the beans during an interview on Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan. McDonald revealed that Sandler himself had shared the exciting news with him, even showing him a first draft of the script during a recent meeting.

While McDonald urged listeners to take the news with a pinch of salt, citing his reluctance to be labeled a fibber, he expressed confidence that the long-awaited sequel was indeed on the horizon. “Fans demand it, dammit!” exclaimed McDonald, echoing the sentiments of many devoted followers of the cult classic.
