Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic emerged victorious in the Miss World 2024 pageant held in Mumbai, India. The event, attended by a plethora of stars, saw the reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska of Poland, passing the crown to her successor.
Among the top contestants was India’s Sini Shetty, who secured a place in the top 8 but missed out on the ultimate title. The first runner-up position was claimed by Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon.

Krystyna Pyszkova’s win marks the second time a contestant from the Czech Republic has clinched the Miss World title, following Tatana Kucharova’s victory in 2006. Described as a Czech model with a passion for education and sustainable development, Pyszkova is pursuing degrees in law and business administration. She is also the founder of the Krystyna Pyszko Foundation, dedicated to promoting education among underprivileged communities.
Hailing from India, Sini Shetty represented her country admirably in the competition. Despite her strong performance, she was outshined by Zaytoun, who secured a spot in the top 4.
India, the host country for the event after nearly three decades, has a rich history with the Miss World title, boasting six previous winners. The 71st Miss World pageant saw participation from contestants representing 112 countries and was held at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC.
The finale’s judging panel included prominent figures from various fields, including film, sports, and social work. The event was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and former Miss World Megan Young, with captivating performances by renowned singers Shaan, Neha Kakkar, and Tony Kakkar.
The pageant’s emphasis on ‘beauty with purpose’ was highlighted by a video message from former Miss World Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The competition also featured collaborations with the entertainment industry, including a performance by the cast of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.”
The month-long event kicked off with grand ceremonies in New Delhi, showcasing the contestants’ talents, sportsmanship, and commitment to charitable causes. Overall, the Miss World 2024 pageant celebrated not just beauty, but also intelligence, talent, and social responsibility among its participants.
