Fans are all set for the showdown between Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited film, Dunki, and Prabhas’ dark dystopian drama, Salaar. Both movies have strong advance booking numbers, with Dunki earning ₹7.46 Crore on its opening day in Hindi, while Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire, across all languages, stands at ₹6 crore. Shahrukh’s movie hits theatres on December 21, followed by Salaar on December 22. According to reports, It has sold 2,51,146 tickets for 9,658 shows across India, generating ₹7.46 crore. Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire has sold 2,46,772 tickets for 4,338 shows, accumulating ₹5.99 crore on the opening day. This includes ₹1.11 crore from Hindi shows and ₹3.5 crore from Telugu shows. Advance bookings for Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam shows are also gradually picking up.
Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire, directed by Prashant Neel of KGF fame, features Prabhas in the lead role, supported by a cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu. Vijay Kiragandur has produced the film under Hombale Films.
On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan released a new song, “Banda,” from Dunki, sung by the most loved Diljit Dosanjh. In a special video titled “Dunki Diaries,” Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu discuss the film, its narrative, and the filmmaking process with director Rajkumar Hirani. In the video, Shah Rukh expresses a wish to be in the film ‘In and As’ like Aamir Khan in PK or Sanjay Dutt in Munna Bhai MBBS. In response, Hirani reveals that a special song titled “Banda” has been created for Shah Rukh in Dunki.
