Why is Suniel Shetty hurt? Warns son-in-law KL Rahul not to be ‘such a good boy’

Suniel Shetty says that the faith of the people, the Captain, selectors and everyone said a lot about KL Rahul and he has proved himself, but it hurts him a lot when people troll him.

Athiya Shetty, the beloved of Bollywood star Suniel Shetty, secretly got married to cricket sensation KL Rahul in January. The two lovebirds had a quiet ceremony at Suniel’s Khandala farmhouse, with only close friends and family present.

Suniel Shetty is not just a caring father-in-law; he’s also a bit worried. In a recent interview, he talked about feeling even worse than Athiya and Rahul when people say mean things about Rahul. Rahul always tells Suniel not to take it to heart, saying, “My bat will speak for me.”

Suniel Shetty shared more about Rahul’s cricket journey, saying, “His bat spoke for itself. The trust from people, selectors, and the captain tells the whole story. It hurts me much more than it would hurt Rahul or Athiya.” Suniel also confessed that he is quite superstitious when it comes to India playing cricket. He watched the entire World Cup in a room with his wife, Mana Shetty, sitting on the floor for every match. That’s how superstitious he is.

In a chat with (Source) ETimes, Suniel admitted feeling anxious whenever Rahul plays, saying, “I get nervous whenever he is on the field. It’s like my child is out there. I always want the best for him. Looking into his eyes, I have started understanding and appreciating every cricketer. When your child faces challenges, it affects you deeply; even though he is a pro, as a father, it’s a different perspective. And then, when he bounces back, it’s like a rebirth.”

Suniel Shetty and Athiya Shetty

Suniel Shetty also had some good advice for Athiya. He told her not to fear success or failure in the film industry and to trust her partner completely, especially because Rahul’s career involves a lot of travel. In the world of glitz and gossip, Suniel Shetty is not just a loving father-in-law but also a cricket fan, cheering for his son-in-law both on and off the field. It’s a mix of family drama on and off the screen!
