Sanya Malhotra Pays Tribute to Late Suhani Bhatnagar, Young Star of 'Dangal'

The passing of Suhani Bhatnagar, who portrayed the young Babita Phogat in the acclaimed movie “Dangal,” has left actor Sanya Malhotra deeply saddened.

Suhani Bhatnagar, aged 19, battled Dermatomyositis, a rare inflammatory condition causing skin rash and muscle weakness, as revealed by her family. She was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on February 7 and succumbed to medical complications on February 16.

Malhotra, who portrayed the adult version of Babita Phogat in the film directed by Nitesh Tiwari, expressed her disbelief and grief on Instagram Stories. She reminisced about Bhatnagar’s unique talent and youthful energy, lamenting her untimely departure. Malhotra extended her heartfelt condolences to Bhatnagar’s family.

Remembering Suhani Bhatnagar: A Tribute to the Young Star of ‘Dangal’

Hailing from Sector-17 in Faridabad, Suhani Bhatnagar was laid to rest at the Ajronda cremation ground.

Suhani Bhatnagar rose to prominence with her role in “Dangal,” the 2016 biographical sports drama revolving around the journey of wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita. The film showcased Zaira Wasim as young Geeta and Fatima Sana Shaikh as the older version of Babita, with Aamir Khan portraying Mahavir Phogat.

Director Nitesh Tiwari and Aamir Khan Productions, the production house of the movie, also mourned Bhatnagar’s untimely demise.
