Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh got into a bit of trouble recently for sharing the wrong picture while promoting tourism in Indian islands. Instead of posting a picture of an Indian island, he accidentally used one from the Maldives. People on Twitter noticed the mistake, and he quickly took down the post and shared it again without the wrong picture.
Even after the correction, people kept talking about the mix-up. In his new post, Ranveer Singh encouraged everyone to explore India in 2024, emphasizing the beauty of our country. He used the hashtag #exploreindianislands.
Ranveer and his wife, Deepika Padukone, often go to the Maldives for vacations. Other Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, and John Abraham have also supported the campaign to visit Lakshadweep using the hashtag #ExploreIndianIslands.
Around the same time, Prime Minister Modi visited Lakshadweep on January 2, sharing pictures of his snorkelling adventure. The images became popular, with many comparing Lakshadweep to the Maldives and saying it’s an even better place to visit.
