Directed by Sriram Raghavan, The film ‘Merry Christmas’ unfolds on a Christmas evening in vintage Mumbai, exuding a nostalgic Goa atmosphere through its visuals. Accompanied by Christmas instrumentals, the story kicks off with the protagonists, Albert (played by Vijay Sethupati), returning to Bombay after seven years for personal reasons, and Maria (played by Katrina Kaif) with her daughter, who has been stood up on a date.
As the movie commences, the initially unfamiliar Albert and Maria gradually become intertwined in various unexpected ways. What begins as a simple Christmas night evolves into a heartwarming tale of love laden with suspense and chaos.
