Actor Shreyas Talpade recently disclosed details about his recent health crisis, wherein he suffered a massive cardiac arrest during the shooting of his upcoming film “Welcome to the Jungle” in mid-December. Talpade, engaged in army training sequences for the film, began experiencing breathlessness and left-hand pain after the last shot. Initially attributing it to muscle pull from the action sequences, he later realised the severity of the situation.

In an interview with ETimes, Shreyas revealed that he had been feeling excessively fatigued for some time, but he dismissed it as a consequence of his demanding schedule. Despite having periodic medical check-ups due to a family history of heart ailments, he continued working. However, routine tests indicated high cholesterol, and he was under medication. The actor expressed gratitude for his wife’s support and emphasised the significance of the wake-up call, stating that he was ‘clinically dead’ during the heart attack.

“We were shooting in Mumbai at the SRPF grounds close to Jogeshwari for Ahmed Khan’s Welcome To The Jungle. We were doing army training sequences like swinging on a rope and falling into the water, and everything was going smoothly. Suddenly, after the last shot, felt breathless, and my left hand started paining. I could barely walk to my vanity van and change my clothes. I thought it was a muscle pull since we were shooting action sequences. You don’t think of the worst-case scenario, right? I had never experienced this kind of fatigue.”

Shreyas Talpade conveyed his profound appreciation by acknowledging the efforts of those involved in his recovery, including director Ahmed Khan, Akshay Kumar, and his family. The incident has prompted a reevaluation of his lifestyle, and he considers this episode as a second chance at life.

On the professional front, Shreyas Talpade is set to appear in “Welcome to the Jungle,” the third instalment of the Welcome franchise, directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz A Nadiadwallah.
