Bobby Deol Calls Abrar Haque From Animal Romantic: ‘He Has Three Wives.’ What’s Your Thought?

Bobby Deol is receiving praise for his brief role as the menacing mute mobster Abrar Haque in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film. The actor decided not to approach his role of Abrar Haque in Animal as the villain. He even went on to call him ‘romantic’.

In the recently released movie ‘Animal,’ Bobby Deol, who played the bad guy, shared that he sees his character as someone who went through tough times in childhood, not just as a monster. People are praising the 54-year-old actor for his role as the silent and scary Abrar Haque in the film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor.

Bobby described his character as a “family man, ” not just a villain. He explained that Abrar witnessed his grandfather’s tragic suicide, which left him speechless, and now he seeks revenge for his grandfather’s death. Interestingly, Bobby jokingly referred to him as a romantic, being married to “three wives.”

Speaking at Agenda Aaj Tak 2023 in New Delhi, Bobby emphasised that the characters in the movie, though intense, reflect real emotions. He believes the film’s brutality is relatable, describing it as an emotion. According to Bobby, ‘Animal’ is more than just action; it’s a family drama, a story about father and son, and it mirrors real family relationships. The violence portrayed in the movie is a reflection of what happens in society, making it a powerful and thought-provoking watch.

Bobby Deol and The Movie Animal

The movie ‘Animal,’ featuring Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri, is nearing the impressive ₹800 crore mark in global box office collections. Released on December 1 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, this action-packed drama, centred around a father-son narrative, has the potential to become one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2023.

However, despite its success, the film has faced criticism on social media for its graphic violence and perceived misogyny. In response, Bobby Deol, who plays a key role in the movie, defended the intense scenes, describing violence as an emotion. He believes that viewers will connect with the level of violence depicted in the film, emphasising that the characters in ‘Animal’ reflect a raw and primal aspect akin to animals. Beyond the violence, the movie unfolds as a compelling family drama, delving into the dynamics of father-son relationships, making it a unique and thought-provoking cinematic experience.
