Poonam Pandey’s manager said on Friday that she passed away from cervical cancer on Thursday night. Her team shared the sad news on her Instagram, but it turns out she’s actually alive. Her official Instagram account shared a post from her team announcing her demise. However, contrary to the grim news it turned out Poonam is alive. She dispelled the rumours in a series of videos posted on her Instagram account on Saturday.
Addressing the situation, Poonam Pandey, renowned for her participation in Lock Upp, released a video statement on Saturday morning, confirming that her death from cervical cancer was staged. In the video, she expressed her belief that the news of her death aimed to raise awareness about cervical cancer.

“I am alive. I did not succumb to cervical cancer. Unfortunately, I cannot make the same statement for the hundreds and thousands of women who have lost their lives due to cervical cancer. Not because they were powerless to combat it but because they lacked awareness about preventive measures. Cervical cancer is preventable; all you need to do is undergo regular tests and receive the HPV vaccine,” she emphasised.

However, Poonam’s alleged demise left the nation shocked, with many suspecting it to be a mere publicity stunt. Social media was abuzz on Friday with individuals questioning the authenticity of the news, citing the actress’s apparent lack of illness and the unusual occurrence of sudden deaths in cervical cancer patients.
