The festive season got a cinematic twist with the release of ‘Merry Christmas,’ starring the dynamic duo Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi. The film, set against the enchanting backdrop of vintage Mumbai on Christmas evening, Merry Christmas Box Office Collection earned ₹2.55 crore on its opening day. Breaking down the numbers, the Bollywood version contributed ₹2.3 crore, while the Tamil version added ₹22 lakh to the tally.
The momentum continued to build on the first Saturday, with early estimates pegging the collection at ₹3.50 crore. As the weekend unfolded, the film’s total domestic collection soared to ₹6.05 crore after just two days in theatres.

The movie features a stellar cast, with Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi leading the way. In the Hindi version, the ensemble includes Sanjay Kapoor and Vinay Pathak in key roles. Meanwhile, the Tamil version boasts a slightly different lineup, with Radhika Sarathkumar and Shanmugarajan playing significant roles alongside the main leads.
Even before hitting the big screen and getting decent numbers on the Merry Christmas Box Office Collection, the movie had already secured a festive deal. The streaming rights for both the Hindi and Tamil versions were snapped up by Netflix for a whopping ₹60 crore, as reported by Bollywood Hungama in July 2023. According to trade sources, this deal was considered a substantial one, especially given that the movie didn’t take the ‘direct-to-OTT’ route.
