Dunki Advance Booking: No more wait for SRK’s fans as Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” hits theatres on December 21 morning! People are buzzing about this collaboration between Shah Rukh and the blockbuster filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. The film, which has already impressed with its cool promotional stuff called ‘Drop,’ is set to make a big splash on its opening day.
More than 500,000 tickets, totalling nearly Rs 15 crore, have been sold in Dunki advance booking for the first day, according to the movie industry tracker Sacnilk. But here’s the catch “Dunki” might not beat Shah Rukh’s previous two hits from this year in terms of opening numbers.
In January, Shah Rukh Khan’s action-packed “Pathaan” set a record with an opening of Rs 57 crore (Rs 55 crore in Hindi). Then, in September, he topped that with “Jawan,” a masala action film by Atlee, which opened at a massive Rs 75 crore (Rs 65.50 crore in Hindi). Both these movies eventually made more than Rs 1000 crore worldwide.

Dunki advance booking for day 1 faces tough competition at the box office from Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s action-packed “Salaar,” which is hitting theatres on December 22, just a day after. “Salaar” is winning in advance bookings, having already sold tickets worth Rs 27 crore for its opening day, as per Sacnilk. There has also been buzz of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ clashing with Prabhas‘ ‘Salaar’ as allegations of unfair practices heat up, leading to a fierce battle for screens.
